Background & Purpose: 
  1. To develop an interactive learning environment that supports science education for blind students through a multidisciplinary, learner-centered approach
  2. To investigate the cognitive and affective impact of haptic perception on blind students’ science learning
Setting: 

Human-Computer Interaction Lab, Fayetteville, AR USA

Research Design: 

The project has a comparative research design and will generate evidence that is both descriptive [design research] and causal [experimental]. Original data is being collected from students with severe visual impairments using empirical data on performance, time, etc. The analysis plan involves statistical analysis, including, t-test, ANOVA, Markov chain model, etc.

Other Products: 

This project will produce a haptic science learning system.
